As the oldest of 4 girls, with little baby boy experience, there are a few things I have learned over the last few days, the hard way.
I knew getting peed on was inevitable, I was prepared for that. The one thing I was not prepared for though, was what happens when things aren't...situated...the right way in his diaper.
Meaning this.
I can't count the number of times in the first few days (before I got all smart and stuff) that I'd go to check his diaper, find it dry, but then discover that his entire onesie up one side was soaked.
Lesson #1? Point all objects in the DOWN position.
(Birth story update: drafted, and currently being reviewed by Caleb. Apparently there was like, an entire hour or so that I sort of don't remember well. Or at all. So. He's helping me...)

That's actually excellent advise that I wouldn't have known otherwise! So thanks for taking the bullet on that one! Now I'll know if I ever have a boy. Which may or may not happen.

Yes, I too, am grateful for this sage advise. I don't have boy OR girl baby wisdom. This is why I have waited for all my friends to have children first.
Please, continue to learn things and share them with us!
P.S. No PICTURES?!?!? Wha?!?!

Ha, I learned this the hard way when I was a nanny. Sadly, it was the little boy who said, "it goes down". Just make sure to keep your mouth closed...the experience could get much worse :) Glad to hear you both are doing well!

I call my baby a pee pee magician, because no matter what i do, he can find a way to wet his onesie, usually right after I've changed his diaper. It's truly amazing!

LMAO... I never had this problem with my girl, so I'll have to keep it in mind if I have another. Can't wait to read the birth story :D

I have to admit I was laughing quite hard when I read this...just because I totally experienced this. Many times. I swear no matter what I did w/ Cameron he still ended up soaking his onesies up the back, side, front, anywhere but in the diaper.
Such fun times. Also, I am sure you already know this but when you start going out...bring EXTRA EXTRA clothes. Blowouts are inevitable. I would also advise extra clothes for you as well. Just trust me on this one...

I too learned the hard way. My mother in law was the one that showed me the light. (He was a month old, can you imagine the laundry!)

Oops!! I guess these are the times when it pays to have a kid brother and an extensive babysitting background.
