Sooooo........we're moving. This weekend. As in, Saturday. As in, 4 days from now.
We've been looking for a few months, knowing that our lease is up soon, hoping to find a home in the area, specifically in the current church ward we're in. Unfortunately, we couldn't find anything, something I'm trying to come to terms with.
I love this area. I love the ward we're in. I love the people, our friends in the ward.
Fortunately though, we did find a house that is in our budget, just a bit more than what we're paying now. It has three bedrooms, and - get this - such amenities as INSULATION. DUAL PANE WINDOWS. AC, and CENTRAL HEAT. STORAGE.
We feel like we hit the jackpot!
While we love our current home and it's charm, I am looking forward to being in something a bit better. Much as I hate packing. And unpacking.
Here's the frightening part though - I'm secretly excited about it all, I absolutely love getting rid of clutter, love the purging process, and putting things away just so. A place for everything, and everything in it's place. As they say.
Except for the kitchen. I LOATHE organizing the kitchen. I stress and hum and haw over which drawer is the BEST DRAWER for the silverware. The measuring cups. The rolling pin.
We just found out that we needed to move in this weekend, and so I started packing today, right in the thick of this ridiculous heat wave we're experiencing. We're breaking records that were set in the 1800's. It's 10pm, and our house is 85 degrees. We're melting, even Wyatt, who is currently sleeping in just a onesie, our only fan in his room. And as if that weren't enough, the heat is followed by rain, scheduled for Saturday. Moving day.
Do you think that's the universe trying to tell us something?
Wyatt was a little fussy today, no doubt because of the heat, and so by the time Caleb got home from work I had a whopping 1 and a half boxes packed. WOO! Thankfully we got a lot done after that. It helps that we don't have that much to pack, 4 moves in 4 years will do that to you. To help entertain Wyatt, I utilized his recent fascination with the mutt and made Bear lay down next to him. Worked wonders.

Next time I have to move I'm calling you. You're a pro. I wish you luck and can't wait to see the new place!

I completely feel your pain. I at least have a little less than a month to pack and no children. I can't believe you guys have moved four times in four years. I wish you luck and can't wait to see your new place.

Good luck with the move, and the heatwave. At least it's not a blizzard, right? I love moving. It's like the ultimate spring cleaning. And if I could hire someone to do the kitchen every time I totally would.
